Fantastic place, clean rooms, great views, a wonderful lobby area with 2 fireplaces and lots of places to relax. Plus there is a farm with 2 llamas, horse, and miniature donkeys. Their restaurant on site is vegan, which I'm not, but it was so yummy. Highly recommend you stay there if you can.

We’ve been to Mendocino many times, and in recent years we’ve traveled with our dog, so discovering the Stanford Inn truly felt like a dream come true. From the moment we arrived, the team went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, including thoughtful treats to help celebrate our 26th anniversary. The staff and location are absolutely wonderful, and visiting during the off-season made the entire property feel especially cozy, calm, and restorative. We loved everything…the pool, the hot tub, the fireplace in the room, and all the small, intentional details throughout. Our anniversary felt incredibly special, and I still can’t get over how warm and sweet the entire experience was. We can’t wait to come back—especially with our dog, who also had the best time. Truly a magical place.

We loved our time at the Stanford Inn! It was the perfect place for a weekend getaway for our anniversary. The location is very close to the downtown area to explore all that Mendocino has to offer. Definitely check out the beautiful gardens on site, and take some time to explore their great book collection while enjoying a beverage. The resort also has a relaxing indoor pool and sauna. The complimentary breakfast at the Raven is 5 stars. Joan & Jeff have created an extraordinary experience here! We appreciated all the personal touches and can't wait to return again in the future...

Joan & Jeff Stanford, who founded this oasis 45 years ago seem to have thought of everything to create this gem. The rooms, with wood burning fireplaces, are extraordinary. The walks through the property are relaxing with numerous locations to pause and reflect and the Vegan food at Ravens is consistently delicious. Highly recommended for a multi night stay.

We have returned to this inn for 20 years now, and never have a bad thing to say about it. Love the pool area and the fact that they are so dog friendly. The best amenity however is the vegan food!

Charming coastal getaway - but make it vegan! The Stanford Inn offers all the usual comforts of an upscale lodge, but with a few touches that make it really worth it: fuzzy animals, warmly welcoming staff, free bicycles and a solarium pool! There are even resort services like massages and classes, but we didn't partake. The food is all-vegan (barring several wines) and the menu has range while staying quite healthy. The food doesn't blow me away but that's pretty standard for Mendocino. The environment is very chill, family-friendly and peaceful. Finally, I must mention the staff again who truly provide such warm service. Well worth at least one visit if you're vegan and looking to visit California!

Stanford Inn is beautiful inside and out. So much thoughtfulness goes into every aspect of the Inn. I especially appreciate the Inns dedication to ethics, sustainability, and hospitality… not to mention how absolutely gorgeous the property is. There are hundreds of different plant varieties on the property including fruit, herbs, veggies, flowers, and in gardens, throughout the property, and in a beautiful solarium. It is also, very dog-friendly and all vegan, with some great vegan food options as well as a vegan bookstore! There’s a gorgeous ocean view in the dining area and the staff is so friendly and helpful. Truly one of a kind magical place that sets an incredible example. 100/10 recommend!

Recommend doing a babymoon here! They gave me strawberry dipped chocolate and an apple cider even though it was too late to book my babymoon package and they luckily had two massages open so was able to get one done! The restaurant is so cozy and then garden and the farm, omg! Just soo peaceful! Really enjoyed my stay! I went there in 2023 December! So long due review!
